ROI (Stereo ace)#

The ROI (region of interest) feature allows you to specify the part of the sensor array that you want to use for image acquisition.

Reducing the ROI has the effect of reducing the bandwidth which in turn means that transfer times are reduced and less CPU resources are required for stereo matching.

If you change the size of the ROI on Stereo ace cameras, the effects on the image components differ depending on the Quality setting.

Effectively, the Quality parameter is a downsampling mechanism to achieve higher frame rates for disparity images. If it is set to Full, no downsampling takes place. If the Quality parameter is set to High, which is the default setting, the resolution is halved. This has the effect that the width of the ROI of the disparity component is already half that of the ROI of intensity component.

Configuring the ROI#

To configure the ROI:

  1. Stop image acquisition on the camera.
  2. Specify the desired Width and Height.
  3. Specify the desired Offset X and Offset Y.
