boost V: Multi-Channel Discovery Issue#
The Basler boost V cameras are four-channel CXP-12 devices.
On these cameras, channel 1 has a dedicated role as the main channel. This is documented in the in the "Camera Connectors and Status LEDs" section of your camera model topic.
As soon as a cable is connected to channel 1, the camera starts the discovery process. If the other channels are not connected at this time, the camera won't be configured correctly.
The discovery process is not started when connecting the other channels. This means that the boost V will use, e.g., only one single CXP-12 link even if three cables are connected, provided that the other two cables have been plugged in subsequently.
To avoid such discovery issues, always connect all non-master cables first and the master cable last. The discovery process will then apply the right configuration.
